Longmen Hao Old Street (龙门浩老街)
Longmen Hao Old is a great place to retreat in your travel to Chongqing China, as it is not so crowded compared to Hongya Cave for example. It is not to large, so you do not have to climb as many stairs as it looks like. In addition, if you want to have it even more calm, there are some small roads besides the area where you can find many coffee shops and restaurants, that are still quite empty on a weekday.

Longmenhao Old Street is located along the Yangtze River in Chongqing’s Nan’an District and holds significant historical value. Established as China’s first inland open trading port in 1891, it became an important hub for international commerce.
The area includes 18 historic buildings, such as the former Chongqing Customs Office, the American Embassy Office, and the Sin Hua Trust and Savings Bank. These structures showcase the area’s historical and architectural legacy.
Visitors can walk through the well-preserved streets, experience the mix of port culture and local Bayu traditions, and take in scenic views of the Yuzhong District from the riverside on their visit to Chongqing China.
